Review in Globe and Mail: Breaking News Monday, November 03 6:00 AM Apps we love Wesley Fok Special to Globetechnology.com Klok (tested v1.5.1 beta 2) Time tracker Developer: Rob McKeown OS: Windows/Mac/Linux (via Adobe AIR platform) Price: Free Site: http://klok.mcgraphix.com/ Sometimes you can spend hours at a computer without really knowing what it is you've done once you walk away. Whether you're a freelancer with multiple projects to invoice, a student who wants to keep track of study hours, or just someone who wonders where their time goes at home or the office, you'll be able to discover just where all the hours went with Klok. Klok is a relatively simple time-tracking utility, with a slick interface that shows you at a glance what you've done and for how long. There are two methods of using Klok. For those who prefer to use it as an organizer and visualization tool, users can drag projects into the main timesheet display and set the start and end times for each task manually. For those who would rather let Klok do all the work, however, there's the option of simply selecting a project and starting the task timer. The utility will keep track of how long you've spent at a project until you click the stop button or switch to another project. The latest version is still in beta, and so has a few glitches. For those who like to burn the midnight oil, for example, attempting to create a task manually that extends past midnight doesn't work the way it should. But if you're looking for a time-tracking application that doesn't get in the way of your work, Klok is the way to go.
